Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers
The combination of age-related volume loss and diminishing collagen production can lead to facial wrinkles and creases forming. If these wrinkles remain visible even when your face is at rest, they are known as static wrinkles.
Static wrinkles are a common aesthetic concern for both men and women. When left untreated, they can deepen and become more prominent, therefore, it’s best to address them as early as possible.
If you are looking for a non-surgical way to treat such wrinkles or delay their formation, dermal fillers are one of the best options.

What Can Dermal Fillers Do?
Dermal fillers (aka soft-tissue fillers) are gel-like substances that can add or restore volume lost with age. As a result, they can help:
- Fill in static facial wrinkles or creases, such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
- Plump up thinning lips
- Fill in under eye hollows
- Add a subtle lift to your sagging cheeks
- Enhance facial contours and help define your jawline
- Reduce the appearance of acne scars
What Are The Different Types Of Dermal Fillers?
There are different types of dermal fillers, depending on their active ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid (HA), calcium hydroxyapatite, polylactic acid, and polymethyl methacrylate. However, HA-based fillers (such as Restylane® and Revanesse®) are most commonly used because of they produce natural results safely.
Here are just some of the hyaluronic acid fillers that we use at Uplift Aesthetics:
Restylane®
Restylane® dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid as their primary ingredient. They can be used to add volume to your cheeks and lips, fill in scars and under-eye hollows, and smooth out wrinkles.
Different types of Restylane® fillers have different uses based on their formulation (i.e., texture and density).
Restylane® Lyft
Lyft, which was previously called Perlane, can add volume to your cheeks and hands. The results can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months.
Restylane® Defyne
Compared to other dermal fillers, Defyne is a flexible filler that can be used to treat deep facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. The results can last up to a year.
Restylane® Kysse
Kysse is used to plump up thinning lips as well as to treat lip wrinkles, which are also called smoker’s lines. Like other Restylane® fillers, the results can last for up to a year.
Restylane® Refyne
Just like Defyne, Refyne is also a flexible filler that is an ideal choice for high-movement areas, such as around the nose and mouth to treat nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and even under-eye hollows. The results can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months.
Revanesse® Versa™
Revanesse® is a cross-linked hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler that is prized for its smoothing and plumping effects. Revanesse® Versa™ is used to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and creases such as marionette lines – the lines that extend from your nose to your mouth.
What To Expect From The Procedure
Dermal filler injections are quick and virtually painless. They are often referred to as a ‘lunchtime’ procedure because they don’t require any downtime.
During the procedure, a measured dose of filler is injected into specific points in the area of concern. This is followed by a gentle massage to help spread the filler evenly under the skin. Typically, the entire process can be performed in under 20 minutes.
What Happens After The Procedure?
Dermal fillers usually have no side effects, however, some people might experience mild bruising and swelling at the injection site that usually subsides within a day or two.
Moreover, the initial results (i.e., added volume and smoothness) can be seen almost immediately after the procedure, with the results lasting up to a year.
To achieve optimal results, we advise avoiding direct sun exposure and alcohol intake for at least 24 hours after the treatment.
