Botox, Dysport, and Jeuveau are all neurotoxins.  They are all made out of the same purified botulinum toxin and are used to temporarily relax muscles in the face where wrinkles are commonly found.  Areas include, but are not limited to: forehead, frown lines between the eyebrows, crows feet, and bunny lines.  Lip flips and treatment for gummy smiles can also be accomplished with neurotoxin.

The average person will see results for 3-4 months.  Some get lucky and it lasts a little longer, others a little less.  The average person gets treated 4 times per year.

Dermal filler is made out of hyaluronic acid, a sugar found naturally in our skin, that helps with hydration, fullness, and elasticity.  It can be injected under the skin to restore volume, fullness, and contour several areas of the face.

It depends on the product used, and the area injected, but it typically lasts 6-12 months.

-You are not a candidate for neurotoxin if you fall into the following categories:

• Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18 years of age
• If you have a significant neuromuscular disorder or autoimmune disorder.  You need to be cleared by your doctor prior to having neurotoxin injections
• If you have ever had an allergic reaction to any neurotoxin before, or if you are allergic to eggs, egg products, or albumin

-You are not a candidate for filler if you fall into the following categories:

• Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 22 years of age
• If you have a significant neuromuscular disorder or autoimmune disorder.  You need to be cleared by your doctor prior to having neurotoxin injections
• Have recently used drugs that thin the blood or prevent clotting
• Have had previous bad allergies, particularly to microorganisms known as gram-positive bacteria
• Have serious allergies to drugs that have previously required in-hospital treatment
• Have bleeding disorders
• Have a known allergy to lidocaine, if using Restylane Silk, Restylane lyft, Restylane, Restylane Refyne or Restylane Defyne
